History
A History of Simplifying the Supply Chain
Evans Distribution Systems has a history of providing integrated logistics solutions
in Michigan and throughout the Midwest, dating back to 1929. In 1932, Evans was recognized by local papers for our
innovation in simplifying the distribution process. Our customers and services have changed over the years, but our
dedication to developing innovative supply chain management solutions remains the same.
Starting out as a single warehouse in the heart of Detroit, Michigan's wholesale and jobbing district, Evans has grown
to incorporate two warehousing and distribution companies (Central Detroit Warehouse and Progressive Distribution Centers),
three truckload carriers (Merchants Forwarding Co., Maverig Freight and Alden Logistics), a transportation management company
(Evans Logistics) and a temporary staffing agency (Evans Resource Solutions).
Today, Evans Distribution Systems provides
warehousing and distribution,
transportation,
contract packaging and
quality inspection services for companies in the automotive, chemical,
food and beverage and consumer products industries. In addition to our heritage serving Detroit's automotive
logistics needs, we also serve customers on the East Coast with a facility near the Ports of Norfolk in Virginia.
Right product, right place, right time - this summarizes how Evans runs their business, but with a personal touch!
As Evans Distribution Systems continues to move forward in the 21st century we remain focused on providing
flexible integrated logistics solutions that enable our customers' success. It's Easier with Evans!
