EVANS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS OPENS ROMULUS FACILITY
MELVINDALE, Mich., Jul. 17, 2009- Full-service third-party logistics provider Evans Distribution Systems will open a facility in Romulus, Mich., focused on meeting the warehousing and transportation needs of businesses using Detroit Metro Airport for shipping cargo. The facility, which will be functional for shipments by August 1, marks the company's sixth Michigan location and eighth nationwide.
"Southeast Michigan is a global logistics hub and many aviation-related businesses are clustered near the airport and its nearby transportation corridors," said Evans Distribution Systems President John A. Evans. "With the Aerotropolis vision for Detroit, we feel this is a great time to become part of this logistics support center."
Evans' new business will serve freight forwarders, brokers, airlines and businesses that need to store cargo or transport it to its end location or distribution center. The following services will be offered:
- Air Freight Pick-up & Delivery
- Ground Expedites
- Special Pick-ups & Deliveries
- Airport Recovery & Drop Service
- Short-term warehouse storage
