Evans Ranks Among Top U.S. Logistics Providers

MELVINDALE, Mich., Aug. 15, 2006 – Evans Distribution Systems has been named one of the Top 100 Third Party Logistics (3PL) providers in the United States for the fourth year in a row by Inbound Logistics magazine.

Evans, a family-owned company with a 77-year history in the Detroit area, specializes in high-quality logistics services designed to reduce complexity and make logistics easier for their customers. The company provides warehousing and distribution, transportation management, packaging, quality inspection and other value-added logistics services to companies in various industries, including those in automotive, beverage and chemical businesses.

Inbound Logistics, a leading industry trade publication, evaluated more than 500 3PL companies in compiling its annual rankings. Criteria used to rank 3PL operations included improved efficiency to reduce logistical costs, quality of service, ability to handle increasingly more complex logistical assignments and global support capabilities.

Felicia Stratton, editor of Inbound Logistics Magazine, is quoted as saying, “Given the scope and scale of the challenge, it is impressive to see Evans Distribution Systems providing the kinds of solutions that companies large and small, rely on to solve the tactical logistics issues of serving customers better, faster, and more efficiently. It is equally impressive that Evans Distribution Systems is responsive and continues to anticipate evolving needs by offering the strategic solutions needed to drive business process improvement and change for their customers. For those reasons, Inbound Logistics editors are proud to recognize Evans Distribution Systems as one of this year’s Top 100 3PLs.”

“We have worked hard this past year to grow our business through the services we offer our customers and this recognition is due to the exceptional dedication our employees show every day,” said President John A. Evans.
