DETROIT, Mich. —
Evans Distribution Systems, a full service third-party logistics provider of warehousing, transportation, staffing and value added services has designated Michael Rushing the Organizations Safety and Compliance Manager. Rushing was previously working with the Transportation team managing DOT compliance and the Driver recruiting process.
Todd Shattuck now assumes Rushing’s previous role recruiting drivers for the transportation team at Evans. Rushing will now focus on pro-actively managing the safety and compliance programs with the goal to reduce accidents, injuries and workers comp costs. Rushing is working to further develop safety management systems within Evans’ transportation, warehousing, staffing, and value added departments
“I will be acting as a resource to our staff and employees while placing a lot of emphasis on training and education” said Rushing. “We will standardize the safety program across all of our facilities and operations through the use of metrics and employee involvement” Rushing said about the future of the safety program at Evans
Rushing has been an active reservist for the US Coast Guard for 26 years as a machinery technician. He also has more than 14 years in safety and compliance in automotive manufacturing, staffing, and transportation industries. Rushing began his career at Evans in 2011, and helped bring hundreds of truck drivers to the company for its asset based transportation division, while also assisting the transportation department with DOT compliance programs.
