DETROIT, Mich. —
Evans Distribution Systems, a full service third-party logistics provider of warehousing, transportation, staffing and value added services hired Todd Shattuck as the new transportation recruiter, to keep up with the company’s growth demands.
Shattuck is responsible for recruiting qualified owner-operator truck drivers. In the past year, Evans recruited 150 owner-operators for its asset based transportation. Evans has experienced some great growth in the past nine months, enough so to bring on Shattuck as a full time recruiter, replacing his predecessor Michael Rushing. Rushing played a key role in driver recruiting and will now move to the role of safety manager, which was a split role for him alongside driver recruiter. With the current growth at Evans, each role has become increasingly important, and deserving of a full time and dedicated professional.
“Bringing Todd on board will be a big help to our transportation team. The position is fast paced and requires 110 percent at all times, and I think Todd brings the skills necessary to get the job done” said Tony Trocki, general manager of transportation at Evans Distribution Systems. “Todd is a great fit for our team culturally, he’s a hard worker, and brings a lot of experience to the table,” said Rushing in an interview talking about bringing on a full time transportation recruiter.
Shattuck’s transportation experience goes back to 2003 with White Brokerage Company (WBC) in Detroit, MI. WBC worked with produce wholesalers to bring a diverse era of quality commodities into the market at a marketable price. Here, Shattuck was responsible for sales, customer relations and transportation dispatch. In 2011, he went to work for Lange Logistics. During his time at Lange, Shattuck developed carrier relationships and was the liaison between shippers and clients in the produce market. Shattuck is a Michigan native and grew up in St. Louis, MI.
