In 2025, Evans has evolved with the changing business climate to support its customers. The company expanded its General Purpose Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), across seven facilities, totaling 2.3 million square feet in Metro Detroit. The popularity of FTZ storage has increased for importers who are looking to store, distribute, or process goods in the U.S. without being subject to customs duties until they are transferred out of the FTZ.
“Many existing and new customers have taken advantage of FTZs to ensure goods continue to enter the country during times of tariff uncertainty,” Evans says.
Additionally, Evans has made great strides on improving access to data and transparency. First, the company launched a container positioning tool known as ezTracker. This tool utilizes third-party data to track containers from departure to arrival. Next, we recently adopted a state-of-the-art transportation management software (TMS) to improve shipment reporting and streamline communication between dispatch, drivers, and customers.
