Evans Recognized as One of the Largest Private Companies in Southeast Michigan

MELVINDALE, Mich. June 18, 2024 —Evans Distribution Systems, a provider of third-party logistics and supply chain solutions, was recognized by Crain’s Detroit as one of the largest privately held companies. The list is comprised of 233 companies and is based on revenue data from 2023.

The list represents the most successful private companies in the Metro Detroit area. Those on the list come from a variety of industries including logistics, automotive, food and beverage, construction, manufacturing, chemicals and more.

Evans Distribution Systems was founded by Wellington Evans in 1929. The first storage facility was located on Fort Street in downtown Detroit. Today, the company has grown to 3.5 million square feet of warehousing across eight facilities. Evans also expanded its service offerings to include asset-based transportation, freight brokerage, fulfillment, staffing, and value-added services.
