Evans Distribution Systems Welcomes New Quality Systems Manager

MELVINDALE, Mich., May 18, 2020—Evans Distribution Systems, a provider of third-party logistics and supply chain solutions, welcomed Doug Ashley, its new quality systems manager to the team.

In his role, Ashley will oversee quality for all divisions implementing process improvements and driving continuous improvement initiatives. He willDoug Ashley photo also be responsible for conducting internal audits in compliance with Evans’ ISO 9001:2015 certification.

“Quality is paramount to the solutions we provide to our customers. Doug will help us better serve our customers and continue to expand Evans’ longstanding Quality Systems,” says John Evans, president & CEO of Evans Distribution Systems. “He is certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt and has impressive experience in operational excellence and quality engineering.”

Prior to Evans, Ashley spent 13 years at United States Steel Corporation in a variety of quality roles. He led several continuous improvement projects that increased product quality and application.

“My goal is to learn how everything is processed and create new solutions to increase productivity and customer satisfaction,” Ashley says. “I’m looking forward to tackling new operational challenges across all Evans’ operations.”

In addition to a Six Sigma Black Belt certification, Ashley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Material Science and Engineering from Michigan State University.
