Evans Named Top 100 3PL For Eighth Year

MELVINDALE, Mich., August. 13, 2010 – Evans Distribution Systems has been named one of the Top 100 third-party logistics providers in the United States for the eighth consecutive year by Inbound Logistics magazine. The annual ranking serves as a qualitative assessment of service providers with diverse capabilities best equipped to meet and exceed companies’ evolving outsourcing needs.

Evans, a family-owned 3PL with an 81-year history, specializes in flexible services designed to reduce supply chain complexity and make logistics easier for its customers. The company provides warehousing, transportation and value-added services to companies in diverse industries.

“We are a strategic partner to our clients,” said Leslie Ajlouny, vice president of business development for Evans. “We help customers optimize their supply chain, finding the most cost-effective way to streamline operations. This has been especially important given the economic uncertainty during the last year. Thinking of ourselves as an extension of the customer continues to contribute to our long-term success.”

According to the magazine, the pool of contenders grew this year as more 3PLs entered the market and additional companies developed value-added logistics capabilities. Editors evaluated information from more than 300 companies, conducted interviews and online research, and compared data to global supply chain and logistics challenges.

“Recent economic times have forced companies to deal with product scalability, demand volatility, access to capacity, and matching inventory more tightly to demand,” said Felicia Stratton, editor of Inbound Logistics. “Experienced third-party logistics providers stepped up to the plate, and took the lead in offering suggestions and helping to transform their customers’ enterprises. Evans Distribution Systems qualifies as an Inbound Logistics 2010 Top 100 3PL Provider because it has shown consistent results in helping customers navigate stormy economic times.”
