MELVINDALE, Mich., Nov. 13, 2012 —
Evans Distribution Systems has promoted Tony Trocki to General Manager of Transportation and has hired a new warehouse manager, the third-party logistics provider announced today.
Trocki is responsible for overseeing the company’s transportation division, which includes supervising dispatch and drivers, managing lanes, ensuring new business and meeting customer satisfaction.
“I hope to strengthen the team within the transportation department as well build bridges between the warehousing groups. In addition, I look forward to improving our equipment management and expanding our current sales footprint,” said Trocki. “Evans is a family- based company and provides a healthy, positive culture that I am proud to be part of.”
Trocki, 41, of Washington Township, Mich., has over 15 years of experience in the transportation management industry. He joined Evans Distribution Systems in July 2011 as an operations manager, where he successfully managed Evans’ largest Detroit-area operation. He oversaw 630,000-square-feet of warehousing, cross-dock and just-in-time business. He previously worked at RKA Petroleum Companies, Cannon Freight Systems and Central Transport.
Evans Distribution Systems has hired Chris Mendez to succeed Trocki as operations manager. He brings more that 17 years of management experience in warehouse operations, inventory control and customer service. Mendez, 45, of Dearborn Heights, Mich., previously worked at XPEDX Distribution and Ryder Integrated Logistics. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration organizational leadership from Cleary University.
“We are looking forward to the new ideas both Tony and Chris will bring to Evans in their respective roles,” said John A. Evans, president of Evans Distribution Systems. “They have a wealth of knowledge about the industry, and we are excited about new opportunities for growth and expansion.”
