New Director of IT Brings Game Changing Perspective to 3PL

MELVINDALE, Mich. Feb. 6th, 2018 — The world of logistics and supply chain is seeing some drastic changes and is projected to see more in 2018. The bulk of these changes are customer driven, and centered around the utilization of technology. As a 3PL that has been in business since 1929, Evans is no stranger to innovation and adaptation. Evans has brought on Michael Franklin, Ph.D, an IT guru with more than 25 years of experience in information technology, to stay ahead of the curve.

Franklin holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. in Medical Physiology and Biochemistry, both from Wayne State University. He has tremendous experience in improving technology processes and finding innovative solutions to operational challenges. Franklin brings to the table a vast knowledge of technical topics spanning engineering, IT and healthcare. This is especially important in the realm of logistics today, as technological advances have changed the landscape of the supply chain, and become more and more necessary.

“I’m excited to be part of a strong team and experienced company that is making great strides to stay on top of technology” said Franklin in an interview with Derek Byrd, Marketing Manager at Evans Distribution Systems. Franklin went on to say that he sees Evans “being a leader in developing Business Intelligence (BI) technology to enhance customer supply chains”.

John Evans, president at Evans Distribution Systems said, “Mike is excellent at creating technology driven solutions to every-day issues, and is a real team player.
