As I reflect on 2021, I’m humbled by how far we have come. None of us imagined that we would still be in the throes of a pandemic. Yet we continue to power through the most difficult times.
If COVID has given us anything, it’s a new understanding of health and safety, and a deeper appreciation for human connection. Our people are the most important asset. Evans employees continue to impress me with their work ethic and their dedication to our customers.
To recognize and support our amazing team, we just launched a new program aimed at fitness and nutrition. Evans is covering a portion of employees’ gym memberships or nutrition programs. We hope this program will motivate everyone to focus on health, wellness, and self-care.
This year, we continue to emphasize quality management as a top priority. We recently earned the ISO 9001:2015 recertification in all six locations. We have committed to this standard for the last 20 years. We also deployed a company-wide training program focused on continuous improvement (CI); all managers were tasked with developing a CI project in their respective departments.
High-quality standards strengthen our operations. They allow us to deliver top-notch service to our customers. This year, many of our customers experienced dramatic shifts in their businesses driven by the pandemic, shortages, and backlogs. These shifts drove us to reinvent supply chain solutions quickly. This included developing innovative processes and service offerings. Our agility and creativity created stability for our customers’ supply chains.
Supply chain constraints have increased the need for real-time access to data and complete visibility. Data is the window to navigating these uncertain times. The evans365 portal could not have come at a better time for our warehouse customers. We continue to make improvements to the tool and personalize the user experience. As a final note, I’d like to express gratitude to our partners and vendors. This group is critical to our ability to provide the highest quality service to our customers. In the same way that we support our customers, they have supported us through challenging times. I am grateful for these strategic partners, many of whom have longstanding relationships with Evans.
